One of my friends requested me to share some remedies for Skin Darkening which can be done at home and So thought of sharing it with you all.
Skin Darkening is a common problem which is faced by most of us and there are several factors responsible for Darkening of the skin,especially face.
1) Long exposure to Sun is the major reason for skin darkening /tanning due to the triggering of melanin production.
2) Second major cause of skin Darkening is pollution, dust and chemicals,which gets accumulated into the pores.
3) Hyper-pigmentation is also one of the reason for darkening of face.Sometimes medication especially use of oral contraceptives cause hyper-pigmentation.
4) Lack of proper and balanced diet, vitamin deficiency and many other skin disorders may also contribute to skin Darkening
5)Sometimes skin Darkening is due to hereditary and may be due to hormonal changes that occur during pregnancy or menopause.
There are several other factors for skin Darkening,I just mentioned only few here.
1) Do not go in sun between 10 a.m to 4 p.m,if it is compulsory,then make sure you use an umbrella or a hat with a brim and Sunglasses to prevent direct exposure of skin to the U.v rays.
2)Never step out into the skin without a sunscreen preferably waterproof with Sun Protection Factor (SPF) of minimum 30.Apply it 15-20 mins before going out in the Sun.Re-apply it after every 2-3 hrs.
3) Apply Sunscreen throughout the year irrespective of season,as clouds,rain etc., will not block U.V rays.U.V rays can pass through Windows and spaces between Doors,so apply a sunscreen with lower SPF when staying indoors.
4) Always prefer light colored clothes especially white colored,as they reflect sun light unlike dark colored clothes which absorb heat. Clothes with Long sleeves and long pants which cover completely are much better.
5) Never miss cleansing face and body after returning home from long hours in Sun and pollution.Cleansing is very important to remove all the sun,dirt,oil and grime accumulated in the pores.
6) Last but not the least Drink lots and lots of water to stay hydrated.
1) The best remedy to remove tan is Curd mixed with lemon juice,Apply the mixture to the area which is tanned or darkened.Leave it for 10-15 mins and then wash it with cold water.
2) Apply orange juice mixed with honey to the effected areas and leave it for 10 mins and rinse with normal water.
3)Besan/gram flour mixed with a pinch of turmeric and a tsp of curd serves as an effective remedy for Suntan.
4)Sandal wood powder mixed with rosewater can also be used to remove tanning.
5) Red lentils powder mixed with raw milk can also be applied to the effected areas and allow it to stay for minimum of 30 mins and then wash it with cold water.
