We all know that Mount Everest is the world's highest mountain located at 29,029
ft. above the sea level and it is 60 million years old one. It was named
initially as Peak Xv but it was renamed as Mount Everest in 1865, in honor of
the Surveyor general of India, George Everest, who surveyed the Himalayas for
the first time. It was called as 'Sagarmatha' by the Nepalese and as
‘Chomolungma’ by the Tibetans. The Everest continues to grow up to 4 mm every
year.
The Mount Everest is formed by the movement of the Indian tectonic
plate pushing up and against the Asian plate. There are two climbing routes one
is the standard route, which is from the South East in Nepal and other is the
North side from Tibet, China. The Nepal route is the most convenient route for
trekking!
